All India Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) conducted NCHMCT on April 26, 2014 for admission to the three years B.Sc. Program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration for its affiliated institutes across India.

The 3 hours exam consisting of 200 questions was divided in 5 sections – English Language, Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Service Aptitude. As per the students who attempted the test, they rated the overall difficulty level from easy to moderate. Although there were 4 different sets of question papers but the variance was in sequencing of the questions in the sets.

A detailed memory based analysis of each section is given below:

English Language

The examinees felt that the level of difficulty ranged from easy to moderate and the possible attempts should have been 45 out of the total 60 questions.

Logical Reasoning

The examinees felt that the section was an easy bet as most of the questions were based on basic logical tricks. There were a total of 30 questions in this section. The possible attempts could have been 20.

Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude

This section included questions on various topics of arithmetic. The scientific aptitude portion had questions on elementary physics, chemistry and biology. From a total of 30 questions, it is expected that students should have attempted around 20 questions and the section is rated as easy to moderate.

This section was a little challenging for students as this had a major coverage of questions from hotel industry, static GK and Current Affairs. Possibly, students should have attempted 20 questions out of 30.

Service Aptitude

For examinees, this is the favorite section of all the sections as there is no negative marking and one can attempt all the 50 questions. The questions were based on work culture in service sector as well as real life situations.

According to students, the level was easy and they were able to solve a good number of questions. After all, it is a fight of around 7900 seats to make it into one of the most prestigious university for Hospitality and Hotel Administration.
